在 這個虛擬與實體交錯綜雜的21世紀，Gorillaz預言了這個世紀最屌的樂團走向。這個以Blur主唱Damon Albarn為主（制作人為舊金山日裔Hip-Hop名師Dan “The Automator” Nakamura）並隱身幕後代言的虛擬卡通樂團，雖然都只是不具實體的虛擬樂手，但每位團員的來歷和組團過程就像搞個真的樂團一樣！這四個充滿強烈城市 嘻哈色彩的Gorillaz團員，是由知名卡通人物Tang Girl的作者Jamie Hewlett量身打造出來的，包括了：

聰明樂觀的酷哥貝斯手Murdoc－不修邊幅的他其實是Gorillaz中心思最為縝密敏銳的團長，以自修方式練就而成優異貝斯彈奏技巧和寫歌制作功力，更使他成為主宰全團的舵手。而身為Gorillaz發言人的他，歌迷也可從中感受到他目中無人的主宰霸氣。

修長頹廢迷人的帥哥主唱2D－擅長彈奏鍵盤的2D在人群中總是最沈默的一位，然而他因失明造成所深不可測的黑洞眼神卻散發著強烈迷人的神秘氣味，吸引了眾多女性歌迷的目光，甚至還出現了他的後援會，在網絡上成立了”Love 2 Deep愛太深”的歌迷專屬網站。

嘻哈黑人大老粗鼓手Russell－玩得一手好鼓，更是崇尚Hip-Hop和Rap等黑人文化，不過曾接受過貴族學校良好的知識與行為養成教育的他，其待人接物彬彬有禮、言談舉止溫文儒雅也讓許多女性友人從他穩重的性格感受到浮華生活的真實安全感。

捉狹可愛的亞裔妹妹吉他手Noodle－年僅10歲的東洋小妹Noodle總是帶著內建收音機的流行盔帽，充滿神秘東方氣息的她雖然只會講一句英文「Noodle」，但吉他技巧與拳腳功夫可是十分了得。更神奇的是，她還有上乘的中國拳腳功夫。

Gorillaz的組成來自於主唱2D和團長Murdoc「致命」的邂逅。原名為史杜柏的2D由於對鍵盤樂器的特殊癖好，每周末都會在『諾姆叔叔 樂器連鎖專賣店』打工。某個午後，Murdoc與他的BB幫計劃利用搶來的合成樂器制作音樂，於是和他的狗黨們開車直沖入『諾姆叔叔店』準備搶劫，卻沒想 到一頭撞上站在門口的史杜柏，結果史杜柏撞瞎了左眼，還因腦震蕩造成記憶不斷退化。肇事的Murdoc最後被法院判決必須服行3萬小時的勞動服務，同時還 得照料史杜柏直到他康復。

某天Murdoc載著腦袋渾沌的史杜柏回醫院復檢時，心血來潮玩了個360度無敵大回旋，當時史杜柏像一支猛力擲出的標槍，沖破擋風玻璃直直插入 安全島。這一次，史杜柏撞瞎了右眼，但雙目俱盲的他卻幸運地恢復意識，從此他便將Murdoc視為救命恩人，並改名為2D（2 Damage，二度傷害）。而Murdoc遜爆的駕駛技術讓這兩個冤家的生命有了180度大轉彎，2D精湛的鍵盤琴藝深深吸引Murdoc的贊賞，並決定 和他組團，只要再找到鼓手和吉他手一切便可定案。

後來，Murdoc在SOHO專賣Hip-Hop的『咕嚕唱片行』認識了移居英國Russell，兩人相談甚歡。當Murdoc得知 Russell是個擅長放克節奏的B-Boy鼓手後，便積極邀他入團，而Russell也為了實現自己的夢想立刻允諾加入。接著Murdoc又在NME刊 登了「征求吉他手」的廣告，沒想到造訪的竟是個10歲的東洋女娃，甫一進門Noodle便連珠炮地說個不停，雙手還同時在吉他琴把上來回點弦，呆若木雞的 三人在Noodle無理頭的開場白下，點頭讓這位神秘人物加入。

而由Murdoc、2D、Russell和Noodle所組成的Gorillaz於焉正式成立，1998年終他們在Camden首次公開演出，激烈狂暴的 龐克噪樂立刻吸引了EMI唱片公司的註意力，與他們簽下發行專輯的合約。而從他們於2001年4月份推出的首張同名專輯中，更可以聽到紐約黑人嘻哈、牙買 加雷鬼Dub、古巴傳統情歌或是英倫龐克搖滾。當初，Murdoc為了實現音樂夢想鋌而走險的目的終於實現了，他們也將以交錯著虛擬和現實的音符，開創音 樂的全新紀元。

你已經找到完美的音樂伴隨著你在漫長的黑夜中跳舞，眼前黑暗，但仍然充滿著光和難忘的聲音，音樂流露出如鉆石般銳利的傷感，強烈的情感表達和電子樂的組合構成了BANG GANG。

冰島，這個人口只有20萬左右的國家，在最近幾年裏卻不斷湧現出一批個性張揚桀驁不羈的優秀樂隊，如Bjork、Gus Gus、Sigur ros、Aria、Singapore Sling、Emilana等，有意思的是，這些樂隊的名字只頻繁出現在電子和後搖類型中，而不是其他的類型。Bang Gang就是其中一支在Trip-Hop領域裏浸淫很深的樂隊。
如果追溯Bang Gang的前身，實際上是由Bardi Johannsson和朋友Henrik Baldvin Bjornsson兩人組成，並且是一個標準的Surf-band，在1996年推出的第一張EP《Listen Baby》為他們帶來了最初的聲譽，同時也宣告兩人的合作關系就此結束。Bardi找來了一個來自冰島的女聲Esther Talia Casey，組成了一個新樂隊並且為此命名為“Bang Gang”，樂隊靈魂自然非Bardi Johannsson莫屬。樂隊在1998年由法國著名的Downtempo廠牌Yellow出版發行了首張大碟《You》的冰島和韓國版，隨後在 2000年Yellow公司又發行了《You》的法國版。法國版的《You》相比98年的版本要多出兩首混音的版本，分別是由Kid Loco操刀混音的“In heaven”和Doctor L跨刀混音的“Liar”。很多人以為Bardi和Kid Loco等人很熟悉，其實不然，對此Bardi曾經在采訪中這麽說道：“我並不知道他但我們同簽約在一家法國的唱片公司，僅此而已。”對於這個法國 Downtempo界的紅人，Bardi的表現並不象一些人所想的那般很激動，Bardi接著說道：“我覺得Kid Loco的混音還不錯，但我更喜歡他自己的唱片裏的音樂，唱片公司寄給我們許多準備幫我們做混音的法國樂隊的錄音帶，但我們聽下來都不太喜歡。”
Bardi對樂隊在冰島的唱片銷售情況感到基本滿意，他說：“《You》在冰島一共賣出了2000張，差不多就是百分之一的冰島人已經購買了我們的唱片。 ”但在冰島他們還是屬於比較地下的，不太知名，但隨著最近這段時間頻繁的一些歐洲國家之間的演出，相信他們已經開始越來越受人矚目。更何況他們簽約的是一 家在法國乃至整個歐洲都很知名的廠牌：Yellow。
Bardi Johannsson在音樂上的構想正好是如今風靡電子界的模式：鼓機節拍+女聲。
在Bardi的感覺中，女聲要遠比男聲更富有吸引力，對聽眾來說也更樂意接受。雖然在他們的唱片《You》中你還可以找到另外兩個女聲Vietis和 Sarah，但Bardi顯然還不滿足於這些女聲的選擇，他希望在今後能有機會和Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Nina Person (Cardigans), Kim Deal (Breeders)這些樂隊的女主唱合作。
而在節拍的掌握感覺上，並不黑暗沈重，和Sneaker Pimps，Puracane等樂隊一樣，節拍上要比一般而言的Trip-Hop中習慣的節拍要快一些，飄一些。甚至偶爾也會有 Drum&Bass的拍子出現在作品中。但總體而言，Bardi還是認為自己的音樂是以Trip-Hop為主，他這麽來形容自己的音樂：
“是以Trip-Hop為主，但同時受很多影響尤其是80年代的一些音樂元素，非常適合在做愛中播放的一種音樂。”
封套的設計上是一個戴著胸罩的女性豐滿胸部特寫，其音樂是否也一樣性感呢？讓我們還是耳聽為實：
“Liar”的開頭充滿了妖氣，一把提琴拉得旖旎妖艷風情萬種，配上松脆的節拍，婉轉的女聲，又是一首很Easy Listening的作品。樂隊很喜歡在作品中保留一段無人聲的純節拍，比如“Hazing Out”“Sleep”。
“Falling Apart”的高潮曲調相當流暢動聽，而且極易讓人跟著旋律哼唱，如果放在一些KTV裏或許算是一首很熱門的點播歌曲。
“Never Ever”是整張大碟中最出挑也是我最喜歡的一首作品，相對之前提到的“Liar”來說，這首作品纏繞的妖氣要濃的多。單看歌詞已經是五毒俱 全，“crack your head/eat your heart/eat your shit/[內容被過濾，請註意論壇文明] me up bad”用詞又狠又毒，一幅拼死拼活極盡惡毒的模樣，雖然整首作品看起來描述的似乎是一個在感情迷霧中徘徊又怨又恨又愛又憐的復雜情緒，但在器樂和節拍的 構築上卻相當妖魔化。從一開始的貝司Solo鋪墊，然後是打擊樂器的融入，再是兩個低沈黑暗的男聲切入，音調上介於走音的邊緣上，輪到之後女聲的正式加入 時，其曲和唱腔上的配合著實讓我驚艷了一把，節拍也回歸到慢而重的Trip-Hop感覺上，一切都恰到好處。之後照例是一段純節拍的過門，讓我驚喜的是又 一次聽到了熟悉的老唱片雜音和開頭的貝司聲，這鍋靚湯至此才算終於熬出了鮮味。
令我驚喜的還有Bardi Johannsson和電影上的合作聯系，很早Bardi就和David Lynch（國內翻譯為大衛林奇）有過一次合作：為David Lynch的電影作品《Eraserhead》（國內翻譯為《橡皮頭》）創作過一首作品”In heaven” 。此後他的一首作品“Hazing Out”又入選了電影 “Blossi 810551″的原聲。後來看采訪才得知Bardi本人相當喜歡藝術電影，並且專門在一家冰島報紙上寫一些影評，他喜歡一些有著黑暗詭異氛圍，結構奇特妖 艷的導演作品，如David Cronenberg, David Lynch, Dario Argento等等。就Trip-Hop這種有著黑暗頹靡的氣質音樂本身來說，確實相當適合拿來做這些擁有著同樣氣質電影的原聲。
距離發表處女大碟《You》已經有三年時間，Bardi Johannsson終於再次送上了他們的新作《Something Wrong》。僅從這次精心設計的封套上就可推測出新專輯將繼續延續上張專輯荒蕪孤寂的路線，但如果你有機會看過“Stop In The Name Of Love”這個作品的Video的話，你就會發現他們溫存的一面。
此外，這次最顯著的變化來自於對真樂器的大量運用，和Archive、Blue States這些樂隊一樣，如果你沒聽過他們的早期作品，多半會誤以為這是一支新晉英式樂隊呢。由Esther主唱的開篇曲“Inside”，慢條斯理的 真鼓節奏，略帶悲傷的弦樂，讓我們再次重溫了一遍標準的Bang Gang味道。“
Something Wrong”的開頭象是步入了一個曲徑通幽的花園，但隨後就讓人大失所望。到是“Forward And Reverse”結尾部分的鼓擊聽來相當大氣，富有氣勢。雖然有小貓般富有特色的女聲Esther，但這次Bardi還是奪回了大多數作品的人聲權利，不 過老實說，他的聲音太軟太糯了，不太適合激烈的吉他伴奏，如果能找到一個更妖嬈的男聲的話，憑借“Find What You Get”這首英式吉他作品說不定都可以入圍英國水星音樂獎。
行文到最後，就讓我們往唱片機裏放上一張Bang Gang的唱片，象Bang Gang一樣性感。

Bang Gang, an Icelandic wonder, is actually a one-man band. The voice, instrumentalist, arranger and producer Bardi Johannsson began his silent career in a surf band, together with his friend Henrik Baldvin Bjornsson, who has later formed a band called Singapore Sling. Thom Yorke堪稱是上世紀90年代以來搖滾樂界最傑出的主唱之一，而他所在的樂隊Radiohead無疑也是當代最偉大的搖滾樂隊之一。1968年10月7 日，Thom Yorke生於英國的Wellingborough。不幸的是，Thom Yorke天生就患上了輕微的眼病。在六歲那年，Thom Yorke的左眼就已經完全麻痹，並再也掙不開了。此後，他一共接受了五次手術治療。最後一次的手術雖然將Thom的病治好了，但這時他的左眼已經喪失了一大半的視力。在帶了一年眼罩之後，Thom Yorke的左眼才可以模模糊糊的看東西。Thom的父親是一位化學工程器具的推銷員，因此Thom小時候會跟著父親經常搬家。在十幾歲的時候，Thom Yorke迷上了音樂，開始聽阿爾維斯·卡斯特羅（Elvis Costello），皇後（Queen）和披頭士（the Beatles）。在隨家人最終在牛津定居之後，Thom Yorke被送到了一所男校上學。正是在這所學校，Thom Yorke遇到了日後擔任Radiohead吉他手的Ed O’Brien和貝斯手Colin Greenwood。在另一位好友，鼓手Phil Selway加入之前，Thom Yorke和Ed O’Brien，Colin Greenwood一起用一臺鼓機就開始錄了很多東西。在樂隊邀請Colin Greenwood的弟弟Jonny Greenwood加入之後，Radiohead的陣容就麽固定下來了。

在改為Radiohead之前，樂隊的名字剛開始叫做On a Friday。而樂隊之所以選“Radiohead”作為樂隊名的靈感來源於Talking Heads樂隊1986年的專輯《True Stories》中的歌曲《Radio Head》。1991年末，Radiohead與英國Parlophone公司和美國Capitol公司先後簽約。隨後，Radiohead發行了首張 EP唱片《Drill》，但並沒有引起媒體和歌迷的過多關註。1993年4月，樂隊發行了首張正式專輯《Pablo Honey》。和《Drill》一樣，《Pablo Honey》在發行之初也並沒有掀起什麽波瀾。直到專輯中的歌曲《Creep》在MTV臺中熱播之後，更多的歌迷才註意到了這張專輯。

盡管首張專輯反響一般，但Radiohead 1995年的《The Bends》和1997年的《OK Computer》這兩張專輯卻令他們大紅大紫。其中，《OK Computer》在發行後不久還被英國著名音樂雜誌《Q》評為“史上最佳搖滾專輯”。2000年10月，Radiohead第四張錄音室專輯《Kid A》面世。雖然這張專輯中沒有一首單曲或音樂錄影帶在美國打榜，但《Kid A》在美國發行後第一周仍以優異的成績獲得Billboard 200專輯榜的冠軍。

在隨Radiohead獲得成功之後，Thom Yorke也開始更多的以客串嘉賓的身份出現在其他音樂人的專輯當中。這些有Thom Yorke助陣完成的歌曲包括：Drugstore的《El President》（出自專輯《White Magic for Lovers》），與Sparklehorse一起翻唱的Pink Floyd樂隊的名曲《Wish You Were Here》，UNKLE的《Rabbit in Your Headlights》（出自專輯《Psyence Fiction》），比約克（Bjork）的《I’ve Seen It All》（出自專輯《Selmasongs: Music From the Motion Picture Soundtrack Dancer in the Dark》）以及 PJ Harvey的《This Mess We’re In》（出自專輯《Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea》）。1998年，Thom Yorke還作為超級組合“Venus in Furs”的一員為搖滾電影《Velvet Goldmine》創作了電影原聲碟，Thom Yorke在其中演唱了《2HB》，《Ladytron》和《Bitter-Sweet》。

追溯 James Blunt 的血緣，你會發現他的家族血脈相承，擁有近百年投身軍旅的傳統，大學畢業後，在老爸的逼迫下，他加入軍隊，他最後升到上尉，並成為第一個派遣到科索沃的英 國軍官，領導三萬人的和平部隊。2002年，Blunt毅然放棄軍旅生涯，決定當個歌手，2003年9月，他遠赴洛杉磯，與Tom Rothrock [*Beck、Elliott Smith、Badly Drawn Boy]、Linda Perry [*Gwen Stefani]展開專輯的錄制，他白天錄歌，晚上就跑到酒吧，與別人分享自己的人生故事，後來，這些故事就成了一首首具有宿命色彩的歌，像專輯裏的結束 曲 “No Bravery” ，是他在99年在科索沃的軍營中，親眼目睹血淋淋的科索沃內戰後，在寂靜的午夜時分所寫下的歌。

Damien Rice 来自爱尔兰，出生于七十年代早期，绘画与写歌是他青年时期的兴趣，也因此让他有了组团的念头，在”O”的专辑内页有些插画便是 Damien Rice 自己的作品。在 1997 年他组了一个名为 Juniper 的团，前后发行了三张 EP，”The World Is Dead” 和 “Weathermen” 这两首单曲也成为电台热门歌曲，但因为合约问题无法录制完整的专辑，于是在 99 年 Damien Rice 离开乐团前往 Tuscany，并从此在欧洲流浪了一年，之后又回到了都柏林，想办法筹钱录了一张 Demo，寄给了制作人兼电影配乐家的 David Arnold，Arnold 很喜欢他的 Demo，于是便安排 Damien Rice 在他的录音室录了第一张 EP — “The Blower’s Daughter”，在 2001 年发行后这张 EP 登上了排行榜前 20 名，也促成了接下来 “O” 这张专辑的发表，果不其然，”O” 在 2002 年发表以后立刻获得广大的好评，除了举行了六周的巡回演出之外，也出现在许多乐评的年终投票名单上。(以上数据参考 AMG 与其它网络数据)
爱尔兰总是盛产音乐诗人的国度，在其创作歌手Damien Rice发行于2003年的首张个人乐队专辑《0》中，封面是一片米白，两个小小的手绘人像，默默的宣示这是张简单的民谣专辑，Damien Rice出生于70年代早期，以摇滚风格开始音乐之路，但在这张专辑里面你实在听不出来，大量的空心吉它和弦,轻松打击乐器低调而简约的伴奏，间或有一些 华丽悲伤弦乐来烘托气氛，没有多余的花俏来转移焦点，只为呈现Damien Rice 那充份蕴含情感的歌声，一起构成了一个亲密却伤感的空间，精致而干净。
这张专辑的成功，除了 Damien Rice 充满真挚的歌声外，女声歌者 lisa hannigan 与大提琴手 vyvienne long 也功不可没，lisa 的歌声非常地动听，在专辑里时而主唱时而合音，与 Damien Rice 搭配地极佳，也让整张专辑听来更为完整而动人。而 vyvienne 每一下都好像直接拉在心房上的大提琴，更是完全衬托出这两位歌者那直接而真诚的歌声。
Damien Rice声音的渲染力，甚至可以将歌曲的情绪化为实质，然后直接传到听者的心上，他对乐器的感觉和协调性也非常出色, 可能是他小时候学过画的缘故，除了专辑封面和内页的插图出自他手之外，在他的吟唱之下,那些背景音乐仿佛组成了一幅异常美丽的图画，这一点在第六首 《Amie》中表现到了极致.当然专辑中的《Cheers Darling》《The Blower”s Daughter》《 Cold Water 》《Volcano》等其他歌曲，不夸张的讲，都是让人一听就疯狂为之吸引的养耳歌曲，特别一提的是《The Blower”s Daughter》《 Cold Water 》被美国电影《CLOSER》（中文译名《偷心》）收录为其片头结尾插曲，对于《The Blower”s Daughter》来说，之前已被美国热映电视剧《THE L WORD》第一季结尾处作为整季SHOW的终曲，可见是首多么打动人心的作品了。此外，《Delicate》亦被热门美剧《LOST》season1 收录为其中一首插曲。

Irish singer/songwriter Damien Rice launched his music career in the late-’90s with the hard-hitting indie rock outfit Juniper. The group signed to Polygram in 1997 and released two singles, “The World Is Dead” and “Weathermen,” which did moderately well on Irish radio, but when it came time to record a full-length album, contractual rules from the label prevented Juniper from doing so, and Rice split. After a brief respite in Europe, Rice returned to Dublin to focus on music once again, scrounging up enough money to record a demo. He sent it to producer/film composer David Arnold (Björk, Nina Persson, Paul Oakenfold), and luckily for him, Arnold loved it and set Rice up in his very own mobile studio to make a record. His first single, “The Blower’s Daughter,” was an instant Top 20 hit when it appeared in fall 2001. Shared gigs with McAlmont & Butler and folkie Kathryn Williams followed in summer 2002 when Rice released O in the U.K. The album hit the States in 2003, which earned the Irishman a dedicated group of American fans in addition to his European ones, and after satiating all of them with a collection of B-sides in 2005, Rice released his sophomore record, 9.

Formerly in rival bands on the Chicago local scene, guitarist Mike Carden and vocalist William Beckett came together in 2002 to mark the beginning of indie-emo rockers the Academy Is… (originally just named the Academy). Naming influences from U2 to Weezer to Pink Floyd, the duo added bassist Adam Siska, along with a second guitarist and drummer, to record 2004′s The Academy EP for hometown label LLR Recordings. As luck would have it, fellow Chicagoan Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) heard the release, brought the band to the attention of his current label, and the guys were soon welcomed to the roster at Gainesville’s Fueled by Ramen. Six months after Carden and Beckett got to work writing their full-length, the band headed to Florida to record.

A few lineup changes came in 2004, as guitarist/vocalist Tom Conrad and drummer Andy Mrotek joined on as permanent members of the group. Relentless touring with the likes of Fall Out Boy, Something Corporate, Midtown, and Armor for Sleep steadily built a devoted fan following around the country before their very well-received label debut, Almost Here, was issued in February 2005. Gigs continued almost non-stop in support, and The Academy Is… released the six-song acoustic EP From the Carpet exclusively on iTunes in early 2006. It contained three new songs (including a cover of John Lennon‘s “Working Class Hero”) and acoustic versions of tracks from Almost Here. Around the same time, the band could be found on the road headlining sold-out venues across the country with Acceptance, Hellogoodbye, and Panic! at the Disco. Following a summer spent on Warped Tour, the guys parted ways with Conrad in the fall of 2006 (replaced by guitarist Michael Guy Chislett) and began writing new material back in Chicago. The Academy Is… eventually entered a California studio with producer Butch Walker (All-American Rejects, Hot Hot Heat) to record what would become their sophomore effort, Santi, which was released in early April 2007.

Chairlift是一个布鲁克林电子流行音乐组合。

Chairlift的成员组成Aaron Pfenning （作曲/电子/吉他） ，Caroline Polachek （作曲/合成器） ，以及Patrick Wimberly（鼓/键盘/制作） 。

Chairlift is a Brooklyn-based electronic pop group.

Chairlift consists of members Aaron Pfenning (songwriting/electronics/guitar), Caroline Polachek (songwriting/synthesizer), and Patrick Wimberly (drums/keyboard/production).
Chairlift formed initially as a project between Aaron Pfenning and Caroline Polachek at the University of Colorado in October 2005. The group intended to write and record background music for haunted houses. Along with bassist Kyle McCabe, Chairlift recorded the beginning of Daylight Savings EP at New Monkey Studio (Elliott Smith) in Los Angeles, California in April 2006.

Chairlift relocated to Williamsburg, Brooklyn in August 2006 and signed to Kanine Records in June 2007. Patrick Wimberly joined the group in early 2007.

Prior to Chairlift, Caroline was also the lead singer of a band called “The Rhodies”. They held performances throughout Boulder, including at least one performance at The Fox.

Their song “Bruises” was featured in the 2008 commercial that launched the 4th generation iPod Nano.
